About Friends of the Restorium

FRIENDS OF THE RESTORIUM was created in the fall of 2003, as a non-profit organization, to attract and acquire financial support to aid the Boundary County Community Restorium, an assisted living facility, in achievement of its goals and manage the assets of the Friends on the Restorium, for the maximum benefit of the Boundary County Community Restorium.

One of the best-kept secrets in Boundary County is the Community Restorium, a haven and a home for senior citizens needing assisted living services. The Friends of the Restorium was formed to involve the community, and ensure a bright future for this wonderful facility–truly a local treasure.

The Boundary County Community Restorium is owned and operated by Boundary County on a tight, taxpayer with Restorium residents paying additional fees for services. Staff handle the Resident laundry, housekeeping, and personal care services. Three delicious meals are served every day in the communal, socially friendly dining room. Some of these meals are made with Restorium garden produce, and meat donated by patrons of the Boundary County Fair.

The Community Restorium is as close to a home atmosphere as possible for those living there. The staff and residents all agree they feel like they are family. Residents can come and go as they please from this cheerful, warm, clean, cozy and safe place, even stay for the winter and go home in the spring. Friends and family are encouraged to visit at any time.

Residents can use their own automobiles, the Spot Bus, or the 12-passenger, wheelchair accessible van donated to the Restorium in August 2018, by the Friends of the Restorium. Residents have requested trips for shopping, medical appointments, sight-seeing to local gardens, farms, orchards, and the Boundary County Fair.

There are many activities for residents to choose from. On-going are: bingo, sing-a-longs, crafts, bowling, birthday and holiday celebrations, flower and vegetable gardening, movies with popcorn, card games and exercise classes, and others. There is also a computer with internet access.

Local churches provide hair care and nail care in the Hair Care Room renovated by Friends of the Restorium. There is special music and Bible study for those wishing to participate. Vocal, instrumental and dance entertainment comes from local groups and studios. Boundary County Library provides books for readers.

It takes a community to care for our honored citizens in assisted living. Friends of the Restorium has raised and donated $450,000.00-$500,000.00 since 2003 to upgrade the facility and provide services to advance the safety, care, comfort and enjoyment of the Restorium residents.
